Richard Wright School's Presents the
5th Annual R.O.X.I.E. Celebration of the Arts
Mr. Roger Murray, M.Ed - R.OX.I.E Department Chair

Born and raised in Baltimore City, Maryland, Mr. Roger Murray serves as the Director of the R.O.X.I.E. Department at the Richard Wright Public Charter Schools. At Richard Wright, Mr. Murray has written the school song as well as the proposed theme song for the DC Public Charter School System, "DC Charter Proud." During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Murray was named the 2020-2021 Richard Wright Schools’ Teacher of the Year. He is an active member of NAfME (The National Association for Music Education), OAKE (The Organization for American Kodály Educators), MMEA (The Maryland Music Educators Association), DCMEA (The DC Music Education Association) and The Alpha Nu Omega Christian Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Murray has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Morgan State University, a Masters of Education Degree from Loyola University Maryland as well as a Certificate in Kodály Music Education also from Loyola University Maryland. Currently, Mr. Murray is currently in pursuit of his Doctoral Degree in Education with a focus on Urban Educational Leadership at Morgan State University.
Mrs. Summer Johnson, Wright Dancer's Director & Stage Manager

Summer Johnson is a dancer, choreographer and teacher with over 25 years of experience. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, she has performed on stage and in videos for many artists including Michael Jackson, Brandy, and Outkast. She was the captain of Morehouse's "Mahogany In Motion" dance team and studied under Kenneth Green and Veta Goler at Spelman College where she graduated with a minor in Dance. She is the founder and creative director of "Summer Johnson Choreography" and has provided choreography for many school and company dance teams around the country. She touts multiple national championship-winning routines. Summer offers choreography services for Wedding First Dances, Bridal Party Routines, Quincenears, Debutante Balls, Competition Choreography, and more. She began teaching dance at Richard Wright Public Charter School in December of 2021 and founded The Wright Dancers Dance Team.
Ms. Trinitry McCrorey - Tech Director

Trinity McCrorey is a creative professional with a background in theatre production, event coordination, and media. She is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Production and Design with a concentration in Stage Management. Trinity brings a passion for storytelling and community engagement to every project she leads.She has produced multiple events, stage managed numerous productions, and toured nationally as a Production Assistant with the world-renowned ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.As the Journalism and Media Arts (R.O.X.I.E.) Assistant and Social Media Coordinator at Richard Wright Schools, Trinity plays a key role in producing events, managing digital content, and supporting student creatives. She also serves as the Stage Manager for this production, ensuring a seamless and dynamic experience for both performers and audience members.A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Trinity remains committed to service, sisterhood, and community impact. She is dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that highlight student voice, artistic expression, and the transformative power of the arts.
Mr. Anthony Carr - Guitar Club Director and Art Instructor

Mr. Anthony Carr is a native of Kinston North Carolina and has lived in the DMV area for some years now, Has a Bachelors in commercial Art and a minor in music from St Augustine University In Raleigh NC. He has grad school training in special education from Trinity college in Washington DC and has been teaching for more than twenty years as an Visual Arts teacher and guitar club instructor. Mr.Carr is also a book illustrator with more than 11 books to his name. His illustrated books have sold over 500,000 copies. Along with hundreds of paintings and murals. Have been teaching at Richard Wright for 10 years.( I like to teach the students how to dream with their eyes open)
Willie Howell III - Drum Ensemble Director & Music Educator

Willie Howell III, a Grammy Award-winning drummer from Washington, D.C., Known for his infectious energy and dynamic performance style, Willie performs over 285 shows annually. He has served as Music Director for El DeBarge and has shared the stage with renowned artists including Ginuwine, Wale, Chrisette Michele, Eric Roberson, CCB, Rare Essence, Vybe, and Chitty Bang. He currently performs with Still Familiar and The Willie Howell Project, continuing to bring high-level musicianship and showmanship to every performance.A passionate educator and mentor, Willie is the founder of the Willie Howell Drum School, where he has impacted the lives of over 200 students—both youth and adults—by instilling discipline, creativity, and confidence through music. Inspired by his late father, Willie Howell Jr., his mother Anne Bishop, and his four sons, Willie’s mission is clear: to create the next generation of creators through music.
Ms. Cache Jill Capuyan - Videographer & Instrutor

Cache Jill Capuyan is a filmmaker specializing in picture editing and non-scripted filmmaking. She holds a Master’s degree in Film & Television from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduating Magna Cum Laude, where her directing and editing work screened at film festivals nationwide.Cache brings a blend of filmmaking, mentorship, and community-building into the classroom as an educator in the inner-city schools of Washington. Through teaching and guidance, she shares her passion for storytelling and empowers scholars to create films that engage the community and leave a lasting impression. Currently, Cache works as a videographer and instructor at Richard Wright Public Charter School, where she collaborates with students to create short films, newscasts, and highlight videos. She also freelances as a videographer and editor, bringing stories to life through dynamic visual storytelling and thoughtful post-production.
Through both filmmaking and education, Cache is committed to telling stories that often go unheard and creating space for underrepresented voices to be seen, valued, and remembered.
Mr. Jerome Poree - Keyboards and Vocal Instructor

Jerome Poree is a passionate multi-instrumentalist, music educator, producer, and performer whose musical journey began at the age of 10. Jerome serves as the Music Production Teacher at Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts, where he helps students develop skills in music production, recording, creativity, and musicianship while inspiring the next generation of artists and creators. In addition to teaching, he is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Music, continuing to deepen his knowledge in performance, theory, production, and music education.For Jerome, music is more than entertainment — it is purpose, expression, ministry, and a lifelong passion dedicated to impacting others through creativity, education, and the power of sound.
Mr. Taylor Smith - Graphic Desigin & Backstage Coordinator

Taylor Smith is an educator, graphic designer, and communications professional with experience spanning media production, live event operations, and visual storytelling. Taylor brings both Southern roots and creative vision into every space he enters.Taylor currently serves as a Graphic Design educator at Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts, where he teaches students across multiple grade levels. In addition to teaching, he supports school-wide media productions that celebrate student achievement and school culture.As a producer, director, and designer, Taylor is deeply passionate about creating work that uplifts underrepresented communities and challenges limiting narratives. His experience across film, graphic design, and live production has shaped his commitment to building inclusive and empowering creative spaces where individuals can share their stories authentically. Whether through visual media, branding, or film production, his work centers on amplifying voices that are too often overlooked.Taylor is also a member of the inaugural class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Scholars, an experience that strengthened his commitment to service-based leadership, mentorship, and community impact. His passion for youth development continues through his ongoing work with students in classrooms, extended day programs, and summer enrichment initiatives.
